Sawyer Hertel

Sawyer Hertel is a senior dance major at Wright State University, where she has performed and choreographed in several productions, including Fall Dance, Emerging Choreographers Concert, and Spring Dance Concert. During her sophomore year, she was a member of Dayton Contemporary Dance Company’s Second Company, participating in community outreach programs and performances including The Littlest Angel and Configurations Dance Concert.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Sawyer began her dance journey at Burlingame Dance Studio before joining the competitive dance teams at West Wilson Middle School and Wilson Central High School. Throughout her dance-team career, she competed in Pom, Game Day, Jazz, and Hip Hop at the state level, Jamfest, and UDA. She also performed on the sidelines and during halftime at football and basketball games. Among her team’s accomplishments were becoming TSSAA State Champions in Large Varsity Hip Hop and earning fifth place in Medium Varsity Hip Hop at UDA.
